Browser language is the preferred language list your browser sends in the Accept-Language header. Sites use it to choose default language or localization, not necessarily the language of this website’s UI.
- Chrome:Settings → Languages → add/reorder languages (and “Offer to translate”).
- Firefox:Settings → General → Language.
- Safari (Mac):System Settings → General → Language & Region (Safari follows the system list).
- Edge:Settings → Languages.
- Reload this page to see the updated Accept-Language value.
Browsers always send at least one language. You cannot fully disable Accept-Language, but you can reduce the list to a single language in the settings above.
Not necessarily. Accept-Language is a preference signal your browser sends. This site’s UI language is chosen separately (currently English at the root).
Browsers can send a priority list (for example en-US, en, fr). Sites may pick the first match they support.
